David Kennedy Recruitment is working with a leading B2B solution provider who are looking to recruit a Mechatronics Design Engineer for their Gaming studios in Bucharest, Romania.
Position: Mechatronics Design Engineer
Location: Bucharest, Romania
Employment type: Full-time
Remuneration: Base salary + bonuses (including accommodation)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide clear, structured technical support and documentation across projects.
- Ensure all tasks and project deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines.
- Maintain adherence to company procedures and operational guidelines.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support innovation within the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project execution.
- Create detailed technical drawings for mechanical and aesthetic components.
- Prepare files and models for digital fabrication processes, including CNC machining, 3D printing, and laser cutting.
- Assemble mechanical systems including hardware, sensors, motors, and pneumatic components.
- Apply knowledge of analogue and digital electronics in design and troubleshooting.
- Support the development and testing of electronic assemblies and systems.
- Prepare and install electronic and mechanical components for on-site setups.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, including support during off-hours as needed.
- Coordinate with external vendors or support teams for maintenance and service follow-ups.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned, in alignment with technical expertise and project needs.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Native or fluent in English (C1 level), with strong proficiency in both written and spoken communication.
- Diploma or degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience in electronics design, prototyping, and drafting.
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with mechanical assembly and preparation of digital manufacturing files.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage tasks independently while working effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Willingness to support urgent technical issues beyond regular work hours when required.
- Basic knowledge of embedded systems and microcontroller programming.
- Understanding of robotics systems and actuator control.
- Experience in designing for manufacturability and optimizing for cost and production.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting multidisciplinary systems (electrical, mechanical, software).
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, RS232, RS485, UART, I2C, and SPI.
- Experience using rapid prototyping tools and techniques, including 3D printing and CNC machinery.
